Does PMRLS have WiFi?
All of our locations have free WiFi, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It is accessible outside of the building.
How much does it cost to attend a libary program?
All library programs are free of charge, unless marked otherwise.
I don't live in your area. Can I use your computers?
Everyone is welcome to use the computers at PMRLS. If you do not have a Georgia PINES library card, you can request a guest pass.
How do I log into my account or see what I have checked out?
Visit your account online on the PINES website to view your account, see your items checked out, place holds, and more.
Can I return items I checked out from one library to another library?
You can return any book or DVD checked out at PMRLS to any PINES library location. Find your closest PINES location here. Chromebooks and Family Fun Passes must be returned to the library they were checked out from.
Can I return items when the library is closed?
Books and movies can be dropped off in a book drop outside of each PMRLS branch location. Chromebooks and Family Fun Passes must be returned in the library.
Can I pay my fees & fines online?
PMRLS is now accepting online credit & debit card payments for account balances of fees and fines on your Georgia PINES library card.
Log into your library account using your library card number and password.
If you have any charges, it will appear in your account summary. Click on your charges and select “Current Charges.”
Choose either “Pay Selected Charges” or “Pay All Charges.” Enter your card information on the next screen.
We are currently unable to accept credit or debit cards at the circulation desk.
If I find a lost item that I've already paid for, can I get a refund?
If a lost item (that was paid for by the patron) is found and returned within six months of payment (or the current period of time allowed by PINES policy), a refund of the paid replacement value, minus the processing fee and the overdue fines that have accrued, will be given. Refunds cannot be taken from the fine drawer. The Library’s business manager will issue a refund check to the patron via U.S. Mail. The refund check will be payable to the patron on whose record the materials were calculated.
It is up to the library to determine if the item is in an acceptable condition for return. Items that have been damaged and are not in condition to be returned to the collection are not eligible for refund.
If you pay for your lost item online, print out the receipt or have it emailed to you. You must have a receipt to get a refund if you find the item.
What is the difference between a hold and Interlibrary Loan (ILL)?
Holds are placed on items that are owned by our library system or one of the libraries that is part of the PINES consortium. If a book is not available in PINES, we can try to get it from another library through Interlibrary Loans. ILLs can take 4-6 weeks to arrive. For more information, contact your local library.
What do the letters on the side of your books stand for?
The small white sticker on the spine of each book helps us find books on the shelf. The information on the sticker is called a Call Number. The top letter or number on the call number represents the collection for the item.
- B – Biography
- BLURAY – Blu-Ray Movie
- DVD – DVD Movie
- F – Fiction
- GR – Georgia Room (Special Collection)
- J – Juvenile (Children’s)
- If followed by numbers (J 002), it is in children’s nonfiction.
- JGN – Juvenile Graphic Novel

- Y – Young Adult

The second line on a call number usually represents the author’s last name (in part or the whole name).
