Why the Sea is Salty presented by Barry Stewart Mann
Friday, June 10 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

From the beginning of time, people have told wild tales about the amazing seas that surround us. In this program, we’ll share a wonderful variety of multicultural folklore, including the “Punia and the King of the Sharks,” from Hawaii; “Mariana and the Merchild,” from Chile; “Why the Sun and Moon Live in the Sky,” from the Efik people of West Africa; and three different versions of “Why the Sea is Salty” – from India, Norway, and The Philippines. We’ll travel the world with lively storytelling, audience participation, a colorful map backdrop, and inventive props, puppets, and costumes.
